KUCHING: Another Japanese defender and a Brazilian are potential foreign players who might fill the quota for two more foreign imports in the Kuching FA Premier League team.
To-date Kuching FA have signed two Japanese, strikemidfielder Yuta Suzuki and mid
fielder Akira Higashiyama, 30.
Yuta played for Kuching FA last year and his contract has been extended.
He was also responsible for bringing in Akira here.
Kuching FA assistant team manager Iswandy Ali Hassan said the third player from Japan Ryohei Miyazaki, 24, joined the team’s training on Thursday while a Brazilian player will come on Sunday.
He said the almost six-footer Ryohei, a defender and midfielder, is an experienced player who has played in the Japanese League, Holland and United States of America.
Iswandy said the Brazilian defender will join the team’s training on Monday.
Earlier, Kuching FA have also indicated interest in Liberian striker Forkey Deo but may have to forgo the plan due to hassles over his passport and visa.
Kuching FA president Fazzruddin Abdul Rahman was reported to have said that they were waiting for Doe’s passport and visa application approval.
Once the documentation is settled, Kuching FA will sign the Liberian striker to spearhead their strikeforce, said Fazzrudin.
Deo has played in the Malaysian League for more than 10 years with Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu, Felda United, NS Matrix and Kelantan.
Meanwhile, Kuching FA head coach Ideris Untong said he would be very careful in his search for another two imports to make sure that he get the right players, adding that the Premier League is a tougher league and every team is well prepared with credible players and a strong side.
