SIBURAN: A car’s engine was badly burned in a fire early Saturday.
Siburan fire station despatched six firefighters, led by PBK II Albanus, to the scene, which was a flat at Taman Batu Gong near here around 6.10am.
The firemen arrived to find the fire had been doused by the owner of the vehicle which was parked under the flat.
The team proceeded to remove the wires from the car’s battery.
The situation was secured by 7am but not less than 90 per cent of the car’s engine was destroyed.
In another fire incident involving a vehicle, the same group of fire fighters was called to Taman Green Land, Mile 11, around 2.20pm on Sunday.
This time members of the public doused the flame before the firemen arrived but not before 50 per cent of the Toyota Hilux was destroyed.
In both incidents, the causes of the fires had yet to be determined.
