SARIKEI: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg attended the Chinese New Year open house of Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing at his residence at Jelutong Road here, yesterday.
Abang Johari, who arrived with others in his group, was welcomed by Ding and his wife.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian; Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah; Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Corporate Affairs and Sarawak Public Communications Unit) Abdullah Saidol; and Assistant Minister of Urban Development and Resources Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
Earlier, the chief minister and his group had celebrated along with 4,000 residents from around Sarikei at the Repok Chinese New Year Open House at Dewan Sentral Sarikei.
