PUSA: Sarawakians can now have access to services such as grass-cutting, air conditioning maintenance and repair of electrical appliances by simply clicking on their smartphones.

According to Sara-X Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Kamarulzaman Rasdi, the company has created an application called ‘Sara-X’ to make it easier for people to access the services provided by their company.

However, he said to date, Sara-X has only 10 registered service providers (which have completed uploading related documents).

“I can see the application ― the idea of which came from Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman ― has the potential to be just like any other e-hailing service where people no longer need to keep their service provider’s phone number as before.

“However, despite the high demand for these services (grass-cutting, air conditioning maintenance and electrical equipment repairing), we have only a limited number of registered service providers.

“Therefore, I would like to call upon our local media practitioners to help spread this news so that more skilled industry players out there are registered with us,” he said, adding that the application would be launched by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in April.

According to Kamarulzaman, the company also aimed to offer enough service providers starting in March with each service having at least five full-time service providers.

Therefore, to achieve this goal, he said his company is now working with the Centre of Technical Excellence (Centexs), Giatmara as well as Mara Skills Institute (IKM).

For starters, Sara-X, which already has more than 500 users, will focus on services around Kuching where currently, the highest demand for services is grass-cutting and air conditioning maintenance.
