MIRI: Nineteen residents of Rumah Agan, Suai have registered to be part of the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) community squad. All have been trained to deal with any fire disaster.
Yesterday morning, Lopeng Fire Station (BBP) set up a Bomba community squad in Rh Agan, Suai after conducting a fire training session there.
The event involved three firefighters led by Lopeng BBP chief Terry Robson. It was held in conjunction with the Randau Community Programme, organised by the Subis District Council and officiated by Utilities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.
During the event, there were several activities held for the community in Rumah Agan such as fire safety briefing, introduction and procedure of how to use a fire extinguisher followed by a demonstration, a briefing on the importance of Kampungku insurance, presentation of two fire extinguishers to the longhouse fire point and a safety audit in the longhouse.
