KUCHING: Sarawak Volunteers through Rumah Sarawak will aid Sarawakians in Malaya who are in need of help.
Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof urged Sarawakians who are living there to contact Sarawak Volunteers, especially in cases of sickness or death.
Fadillah who is Sarawak Volunteers advisor added that cooperation from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) is welcomed in such cases.
“They can contact the officers directly on issues regarding welfare at Sarawak Communications Office through Dayang Norhashimah or Sarawak Volunteers representative Mohd Reza Abd Rashid. They can also contact the Sarawak Community Welfare Department directly.
“Last year, there were 201 Sarawakian patients treated at the National Heart Centre (IJN), Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Sungai Buloh, Hospital Selayang, Hospital Serdang, Hospital Putrajaya and Hospital Ampang.
“All of them received aid from the state government,” he said during the Sarawak Welfare briefing in Lembah Klang, Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
Fadillah said that Sarawak Communications Office in Kuala Lumpur or Rumah Sarawak and Sarawak Volunteers had aided 49 cases with total costs of RM157,750.
He said all reported case would be checked to ensure that aid can be delivered promptly to prevent inconveniences to the recipients.
