KUCHING: A man had a close shave escaped death after his car crashed into a ditch at Perupok 4, Matang here yesterday.
According to the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, an emergency call on the accident was received at 12.20am and ten firefighters from the Petra Jaya fire station were despatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the firemen found the driver trapped in his seat.
It was believed that the victim had lost control of his vehicle and veered into a ditch.
The man was extricated using rescue tools and later handed over to the ambulance for further treatment.
Operation ended at 12.50am.
