MUKAH: Fire victims of Kampung Penakub Ulu here have received more donations from the public.
On Monday, five non-governmental organisations (NGOs) came forward to present their contributions to the victims.
Lions Club of Mukah, Mukah Foochow Association and Mukah Chiang Chuan Association contributed foodstuffs, while Mukah Buddhist Association and Mukah Teochew Association donated cash.
Representatives of the NGOs handed over their contributions to the victims respectively in a simple handing over ceremony near the site of the burnt house.
Penghulu Lee Liong Ing, Kapitan Kueh Bing Chuan, and Ketua Kaum Jefri Musa also attended the event.
Fourteen people from two families were left homeless by the fire which happened on Feb 15 at 9.15am, and completely destroyed their house.
No injuries or fatalities were reported.
