KUCHING: Sarawak recorded two new Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) yesterday.

The State Disaster Management Committee, in a statement, said both cases were recorded at the Sarawak General Hospital. Both patients were Malaysians.

Following the two new cases, Sarawak has now a cumulative total of 117 PUI cases as from January 10.

For the record, 93 of the patients are Malaysians while 21 are Chinese nationals, one Thai, one Indonesian and one Canadian.

However, a total of 114 cases have tested negative and only three (including one in Bintulu Hospital) are still awaiting results from laboratory testing.

As of yesterday, the Health Department too, had screened a total of 13, 814 arrivals to the state.

This brings the total arrivals screened at airports and all other entry/exit points to the state to 221,417 since January 1.
