KUCHING: A 20-year-old student from Taman Malihah Matang was killed in a road accident on Sunday night.

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim was identified as Jeremy Samuel Joseph.

“The victim was riding his Yamaha SRX motorcycle to Kampung Kudei from Taman Malihah Matang at 10pm when tragedy struck.

“His bike collided with a Perodua Myvi car driven by a 24-year-old who was turning into the junction at Lorong 6, Taman Malihah Matang.

“Due to the impact, the victim was thrown off his motorcycle onto the road shoulder.

“He was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital,” Alexson said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
