KUCHING: The state government is strongly advising Sarawakians who have been to South Korea and China, including Hong Kong and Macau, in the last 14 days to do a self-quarantine.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee, in a statement yesterday, said this included students and work visa holders as self-quarantine was compulsory in order to ensure the state remained free from the global Covid-19 outbreak.
“All Malaysians who are not residing in Sarawak, who have been to South Korea and China, including Hong Kong and Macau, are strongly advised to not visit Sarawak until they have completed a home quarantine for 14 days,” the statement read.
All foreigners irrespective of nationalities who have been to South Korea in the past 14 days are also not allowed to enter the state.
“Visitors from affected countries such as Taiwan, Singapore, Italy, Iran and Japan will be screened by the Health Department at all points of entry statewide.”
