SIBU: The federal government is urged to improve its existing 03-88882010 hotline.

Sibu MP Oscar Ling said on Thursday that the hotline seemed to be all the time engaged and that people with problems could not get help from the hotline.

Ling said the movement control order has entered its second day but there were still lots of confusion among the public.

“Apart from what sectors of business can continue to operate, the more severe and imminent problem concerns regulations on interstate travelling. There seems to be different regulations imposed by different states,” he said.

As an example, he pointed to the many Sarawakians still stranded in Kuala Lumpur or other places in West Malaysia and waiting to return home, while many flights had also been cancelled yesterday.

He is worried that some of these people might not have the financial ability to stay in KL for another two weeks as staying in hotels is expensive.
