KUCHING: Batu Kitang assemblyman has praised the public for trying to change their habits on going out, to abide with the first day of the movement control order (MCO).
Lo Khere Chiang was pleased to see that the public were in line with the Malaysian government’s 14 days movement control order and the Sarawak government’s policy directive to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic from 18 until 31 March.
“Many are still trying to stay at home and not to go out unless it’s absolutely necessary. The streets are getting empty, which shows that everyone is awake of the importance of reducing socialising and maintaining segregation over the next crucial 14 days.
“Then, we shall be able to flush out all those who have contracted the coronavirus and are sick. We shall be able to segregate them and give them due attention and treatment,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.
The Padawan Municipal Council chairman also added that once all those who are sick has gotten isolated from those who are not, the city will be safe.
“Hopefully, we can all go back to our normal lives in the shortest possible time,” he stated.
