LAMBIR: Having own house is everyone’s dream, says 35-year-old Alexander Jaya.
Lambir Affordable Housing Scheme (PPR) has made Alexander’s dream to have his own home comes true.
Alexander is one of the successful applicants for PPR Lambir housing scheme when he received the house key yesterday in a ceremony held at the housing hall.
The event was officiated at by Assistant Minister for Housing, Dr Annuar Rapaee.
According to Alexander, he has been waiting to own a house for more than 10 years.
“I am really happy now to have my own house. I would like to thank the government for this housing scheme.
“This scheme is good for low income people like us as the houses are affordable,” he said when met by reporters after the event.
Alexander, a father of two is a recipient of Welfare Department Cash Aid and Socso pension scheme after he was involved in a road accident in 2009.
For the time being he and his family are still renting a house at Taman Tunku.
Meanwhile, Khairul Anuar Jaman, 29, expressed his gratitude and thanked the government for the housing scheme which has enabled him and his family to have their own house.
“Now I can raise my children in my own home. I can’t wait to move to our new house and I hope that we can move soon,” he said.
Currently, Khairul and his family are staying in his brother’s house at Kampung Batu 8, Lambir.
Another successful applicant is Bong Wan Tzen, 36.
“I consider this as a prize to my children. They are very happy and can’t wait to move into our new house,” she said, adding that she has been waiting for more than 10 years to own her own house.
Bong also thanked the goverment for providing affordable housing scheme for the low income groups.
