KUALA LUMPUR: Another death due to Covid-19 has been reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) today, bringing the death toll due to the disease in Malaysia so far to 15.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the deceased was from Case 1519, a 71-year-old Malaysian man from Melaka.

“He was suspected to have close contact with a positive Covid-19 patient (Case 703), who attended the tabligh gathering in Sri Petaling Mosque recently.

“He also had a history of chronic illness and was given treatment at the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar (Johor) from March 18. He was pronounced dead at 5.35 am today,” he said in a posting on his official Facebook page.

Dr Noor Hisham said the ministry extended condolences to the deceased’s family. – Bernama
