BINTULU: Poor families badly affected by the Covid-19 movement control order (MCO) here received assistance from Extrameal Bintulu recently.
According to Extrameal Bintulu founder Francis Ngu Hown Hua, the decision to give the assistance was made because Extrameal Bintulu was concerned about these families who might have difficulty buying daily necessities during the MCO period.
“We are particularly concerned about this disadvantaged group because we know for sure they are having difficulty buying daily necessities due to financial constraints.
“Among the essential items we gave them are rice, eggs, cooking oil, coffee and drinking water.
“To date, we have handed over assistance to several villages, namely Kampung Assyakirin, Kampung Jabai, Kampung Jepak and squatter villages around Bintulu,” he said, adding they also received some feedback from traders who wanted to join in helping these less fortunate people.
He added Extrameal Bintulu would continue to distribute donations to needy families throughout the MCO.
