KUCHING: The RM250 billion economic stimulus package announced by the federal government yesterday truly showed that no one is left behind amidst the Covid-19 crisis.
Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said the package announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin covered not only the B40 group, but also included the M40 group.
She added since the movement control order (MCO) was enforced, the people have been feeling the pinch especially for the low income group, daily paid workers, small traders, people with disabilities, single mothers and senior citizens.
“There is much anxiety and worry on how to feed the family, because no income means no food,” she said.
She said as such, with the monetary assistance announced plus the Sarawakku Sayang Special Aid package from the Sarawak government, the people can breathe a sigh of relief.
“What needs to be done now is to speed up the disbursement,” she said.
