BINTULU: The police with the help of assistance of the army, auxiliary police and Bintulu People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) personel are helping to control the crowd at Simpanan Nasional (BSN) Bintulu branch as the latter dispenses Prihatin, Bantuan Sara Hidup and Sarawakku Sayang aid.

Bintulu district police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said his men held meetings and discussions with the bank to ensure public compliance with the movement control order (MCO) rules.

In a meeting last Friday, Bintulu police was represented by Crime Prevention and Community Security division chief while BSN was represented by its manager Jeclyn Moon.

“We have asked the bank to ensure that the public comply with social distancing and use   face masks, that sanitisers are provided at the counters and that the number of customers at any one time is limited to five persons only,” he said.

Yesterday, a lot of people lined up as early as 8am from the City Point Bintulu mall to the BSN Bintulu branch for their Prihatin and Sarawakku Sayang aid withdrawals. Prihatin recipients who do not have bank accounts can cash their vouchers at BSN branches from Apr 16 until Dec 31.
