KANGAR: The global Covid-19 pandemic has claimed another sporting victim, with the ninth World Cup Woodball Tournament (WCWC Perlis 2020), which was scheduled to be held here from July 24-30, postponed to the same dates next year.
The decision, made by the International Woodball Federation (IWbF), was conveyed by its president Ming Hui Weng to the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also the patron of Perlis Woodball Association (PWNP).
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra said in a statement today that Perlis, as host, needed to accept the postponement in a positive manner and urged everyone involved in organising the meet to continue to cooperate so that preparations would go on smoothly. – Bernama
