KUCHING: Lions Club of Kuching-Kota Samarahan and Lions Club of Kuching City have embarked on a Covid-19 Hunger Project, delivering food essentials to those in need.

On Friday, the Lions reached out to seven families at a construction site at Jalan Depo and 13 families at a construction site at Jalan Song.

Each family received basic food essentials such as rice, cooking oil, eggs, canned food and Anmum milk powder.

Organising chairperson Lion Joseph Tang thanked Lions Club of Kuching-Kota Samarahan, Lions Club of Kuching City, McDonald’s Tabuan Jaya, Taka Cake House, and Teguh Binaniaga, as well as individual contributor David Chan, for their generous contributions.

The movement control order (MCO) which began on March 18 has brought construction activities to a standstill, depriving construction workers of their incomes.

With the MCO extended for another two weeks until May 12, many construction workers and their families are forced to endure longer their hardships.
