KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) will announce details on the active case detection (ACD) operation to be carried out at Kampung Tabuan, Kuching after discussions are completed.

“The meeting is still going on, when it is completed then (we can provide more information),” said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at a SDMC Covid-19 daily update press conference yesterday.

He was responding to a question on where the exact location of the ACD operation would be and when the exercise would commence.

He said once the meeting was completed, they would know the precise location and the number of families involved.

An ACD operation had been conducted at two residential estates in Kota Samarahan, namely Taman Desa Ilmu and Taman Uni Garden.

Meanwhile, he said that at the moment there would be no changes with regard to permitted operation hours and time restrictions in Sarawak during the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

“We will stick to the same time frame – no changes, so it is easy for the public to understand. We still follow 7am to 7pm,” he said.

He said that during the CMCO, movement between states and districts was still not allowed without requesting permission from the police first.

“You cannot move from Kuching to Sri Aman without asking for the police’s permission,” said Uggah, who is also SDMC chairman.

He said that while there might be fewer roadblocks within Kuching, movement between districts, especially from red zones to other areas, was still strictly controlled.
