PUSA: The appointment of Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim as Special Advisor to the Chief Minister is a source of pride for all people in Batang Lupar parliamentary constituency, especially those in Beting Maro state constituency.
Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor expressed a hope that the appointment of the 65-year-old MP would result in further development in the area.
“I, representing all the people of Beting Maro and the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) branch, congratulate Rohani. At the same time, I thank Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for the trust given to her.
“It is hoped that her appointment would enhance the progress of Batang Lupar and Beting Maro and help resolve the issues and needs of the people,” he told Suara Sarawak on Sunday (June 21).
The MP who has held the Batang Lupar parliamentary seat since 2004 was appointed Special Counsel to the Chief Minister in May.
According to Rohani, who is also deputy head of the PBB Women II, the appointment was a state-wide initiative to carry out special tasks including in the rural areas to help people in need and so on.
“I will carry out the task after receiving instructions from Abang Johari and I also started moving last week at the federal level,” she said, adding that the appointment was also a tribute to women in general.
