KUCHING: Hope Place has reached out to a family in need in Serian recently after being informed of their situation by members of the public through Facebook.

Victor Bingin, 47, and his elderly mother are in need of help as both are in poor health and not working.

Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan said that Victor used to work as a driver.

However, he was unable to seek income due to his high-blood pressure and difficulty in walking due to his knee problem.

“Both he and his mother only rely on his father’s pension of only RM500,” he said.

He said the family lived in an old house, which used to belong to Victor’s father, located far from the main road in the deep interior of Tarat Jaya in Serian.

Hope Place had found the house to be in a poor state and does not have a proper bathroom which prompts the family to take their baths outside with water from several small containers.

“Hope Place would like to thank all donors who have donated wheelchairs and food items to help people like Victor and his mother,” said Kevin.
