KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas took time to visit two secondary schools in the city today (June 29) to see how well the Form Five and For Six classes complied with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under the recovery movement control order (RMCO).
Uggah, who is also the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman, spent about an hour at SMK Jalan Arang and SMK St Thomas.
Accompanying him were Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang.
At SMK Jalan Arang, deputy director general of the Education Ministry (School Operation Sector) Adzman Talib and the school principal Lau Yok Hock were on hand to receive Uggah and Sim.
At SMK St Thomas, the Bishop of Kuching the Right Reverend Datuk Danald Jute, Kuching City South (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Sing and the school principal Robin Sabai were among those who received them.
Uggah was very happy to note the high rate of compliance of the administration staff of the two schools.
Later, he also visited Petanak Market in Padungan to check on the COVIDTrace app at its entrance.
