KUCHING: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim got it all wrong when he said the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government has not done much for the country and people since it took over the government.

According to Parti Pesaka Bumipitera Bersatu (PBB) Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, Malaysians in general approved the way PN was managing the country ever since it helmed the government.

“He (Anwar) got the wrong letter. It is PH (Pakatan Harapan) not PN,” she told New Sarawak Tribune when contacted on Sunday.

Fatimah was asked to comment on a recent remark by Anwar which was reported in The Malay Mail on July 11, where he questioned what the PN administration had done since March to defend the Malays.

Anwar said, instead the PN government had assembled a bloated Cabinet which would cost the country an additional RM7.6 million per year.

To this, the Dalat assemblywoman said after taking over from a failed PH government, PN which is led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had managed matters well especially when the county was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Muhyiddin may not have addressed the issues as mentioned by Anwar yet. This is because Covid-19 pandemic then set in and affected Malaysia.

“Muhyiddin and his government’s primary focus then was to contain the spread of the virus to ensure the people are safe,” she pointed out.

She said towards the later part of movement control order (MCO), the prime minister’s concern was to ensure there was food on the table for everybody irrespective of their race.

“Then, various financial assistance such the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) which was not only for the Malays, but for all those who had been impacted badly due to loss of jobs during the MCO period,” said Fatimah.
