KUCHING: The case in which a Year One pupil died after he was allegedly hit by a Year Six pupil in a hostel of their boarding  primary school in Kapit  is very sad and should be a wake-up call for every one.

This was said by Minister of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Hajah Fatimah Abdullah when speaking to reporters yesterday.

According to her, what was happening in our society today also happened before but it was never this serious.  This is the first of such case in Sarawak, she said.

“We have never heard of cases of misunderstanding like this before.  Among the youth maybe but never among children that resulted in death,” she said.

Fatimah said as it had already become a police case, and the police are also investigating it. We only have to wait for the result of the investigation and also from the aspect of charges and so on.
