MUKAH: Politeknik Mukah (PMU) distributed 550 face shields to selected schools and kindergartens here last Thursday.

The recipients were Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Mukah, SK Agama Mukah, PASTI Al-Wafi Mukah branch, 3Q MRC Mukah branch, Pemaju Masyarakat Taska S29 and Taska Permata Kemas PMU.

PMU director, Dullah Muluk said it was PMU’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, which was organised by the Mathematics, Science and Computer Department (JMSK), where the staff jointly contributed to the cause.

He added the primary objective of the programme was to enhance friendship and rapport with the local community and those in the public sector.

“It is also aimed to increase awareness of Covid-19 pandemic among the local population, besides assisting those who could not afford to buy face shields to protect them from the virus threat,” he said at the distribution of face shields at SK Mukah here.

According to him, PMU would try its best to assist the local community including schools through its CSR initiatives as this could foster friendship and cooperation with them.

PMU deputy director Iskandar Reduan, head of JMSK Mohammad Fardillah Wahi and SK Mukah headmaster Burhanuddin Kaderi also attended the event.
