CONSTRUCTION OF UNIFOR OFFICE

KUCHING: The construction of a 10-storey office complex to house the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) is expected to commence this September.

This was conveyed to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg when the Unifor Board of Trustee, led by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, paid a courtesy call on the former.

Uggah briefed Abang Johari on preparations for the Unifor office complex, which will sit on a 1.2-hectare land in Jalan Ong Tiang Swee here.

The complex is estimated to cost RM70mil, and is projected for completion in two years’ time.

Joining Uggah were board members, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil, Native Land Development Assistant Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Rural Electricity Assistant Minister Datuk Liwan Lagang, Parti Rakyat Sarawak secretary-general Datuk Janang Bungsu, Tellian assemblyman Yusibosh Balo, Unifor director Richard Lon and State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion.
