KUCHING: A total of seven compounds were issued by the police to individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said, the police were to continue monitoring and enforcing the SOPs including the use of face masks and social distancing in public places.
“Kota Samarahan recorded the most with four compounds issued, while one compound each was issued to errant individuals in Sarikei, Betong and Kanowit,” the statement read.
On the SOP compliance monitoring, the patrol teams have inspected 1,746 premises throughout Sarawak.
These included 309 restaurants, 163 supermarkets,109 banks, 106 places of worship, 95 public markets, 77 government offices, 53 leisure places , 38 hawker stalls, 25 construction sites, 11 factories and 760 others.
The committee also informed that 2,102 vehicles were inspected in six “Ops Benteng” roadblocks in five districts namely two in Lundu with one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman, and Lubok Antu.
