KUCHING: It is truly a joyous moment for tattoo parlours as the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has allowed them to reopen starting Monday (Sept 21).
Like any other businesses, tattoo parlours are not exempted from the hardships faced by other businesses during the movement control order (MCO) period.
New Sarawak Tribune managed to talk to tattoo parlour operators and artists on what that they have to say.

“I am relieved that tattoo parlours can finally resume business! Though it has been tough going through income loss during the MCO, there is nothing much I can do except accept wholeheartedly on what has happened. I just hope that I will be able to attract more customers through promotions and offers that I made.”

“It is without doubt that I have been waiting for the reopening of tattoo parlours because my main income is solely from the studio itself. Though we experienced loss in income, we still would not increase the price of our services. I truly hope that more customers will come and support our business.”

“We were very happy when we heard the news of the reopening! We honestly do not know that tattoo parlours have their own category because we opened our shop following the saloon’s reopening date. Nonetheless, we hope that our business will be better and that customers will follow the SOP in our studio.”

“I feel very glad that tattoo parlours are allowed to operate again as per usual. The closing of my studio due to MCO has been really tough due to zero income and I have to find another job. I hope that everything will be back to normal with no more Covid-19 cases.”
