KAPIT: Residents along Sungai Menuan and Batang Rajang here have pledged their support to Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat in the coming state election.
“He has brought development to our areas. We are very happy with our elected people’s representatives, including Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is Kapit MP.
“Through their efforts, the government approved the ongoing road project from Nanga Menuan to ulu Sungai Menuan, which upon completion, would really benefit folks residing at the Menuan area.
“We would also like to thank Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg,” said Tuai Rumah Sli Mancha, on behalf of longhouse folks along Sungai Menuan and Batang Rajang.
He was speaking at a gathering in conjunction with Jamit’s visit over the weekend.
“From what we have heard, folks in the Bukit Goram constituency all speak favourably of Jamit.
“He is friendly, easy to contact and always visit longhouse folks here to listen to their problems, and has tried his best to tackle the issues.
“All 14 longhouses along Sungai Menuan received various infrastructure projects from Jamit through Minor Rural Project (MRP) and Rural Transformation Project (RTP).”
Earlier, Jamit commissioned the bridge costing RM200,000 at Rumah Sli that was constructed under the RTP.
At the function also, Jamit presented MRP grants amounting to RM96,000 to 14 JKKKs along Sungai Menuan.
Accompanying Jamit were Cr Martin Bilun, Penghulu Pasang Tubak, Penghulu Langan and Nanta’s special assistant, Ambrose Abong Bugek.
