KUCHING: Karya Terindah Performing Arts (KTPA) together with Sarawak Symphony Orchestra (SONS) will be performing a musical highlighting the frontliners this coming weekend.
A preview of the ‘Heart to Heart’ performance was attended by permanent secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture Hii Chang Kee on Thursday night at the new State Legislative Assembly building.
“This is the third open show by SONS and this performance is to pay tribute to frontliners and to show others their journey of combating the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said, adding that the musical performance will show how Malaysia handled the pandemic.
“Our guest of honour will be Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and there will be a segment where he will present a token of appreciation to the frontliners.
“The token of appreciation is from the government and Sarawakians to show appreciation to our frontliners who fought a long and hard battle against the virus since March,” he added.
Hii also stated that SONS would be performing at Sibu and Miri this year.
“SONS are well-trained and are very talented. We would do more programmes with them, as an opportunity for them to showcase and develop their talents,” he said.
