KUCHING: A suspect in his 20s was arrested by a security guard at Electra House, Power Street on Wednesday morning. According to a shop assistant, upon arrival at the shop where worked, she saw a man in the shop.
The man was looking at some shampoos and she saw him sneaking one shampoo bottle into his black jacket. After observing him, she saw the man sneaked another bottle of shampoo into his trousers pocket. When the man was about to leave, the shop assistant confronted him but the man denied having taken or shoplifted anything from the shop.
The bold shop assistant tried to grab the shampoo concealed as aforesaid but the man pushed her.There was a scuffle and four bottles of shampoo dropped out from the man’s possession causing him to flee and the shop assistant alerted the security guard who caught him.
The total cost of the shampoo was about RM60. The suspect was handed over to the central police station for investigation.
