KUCHING: In view of the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) is committed to supporting healthcare centres in the state.
Yesterday, it contributed personal protective equipment (PPE) to NKF-Kidney Association of Sarawak Dialysis Centre.
“This effort is also in line with the Health Ministry’s statement in encouraging various parties to donate PPE for the use of frontline personnel in discharging their daily duties,” it said in a statement today.
BPHB group corporate services head, Maslihah Tioh represented BPHB group chief executive officer, Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah in handing over the PPE to the centre’s manager, Reylene Ursula Dietar.
In her speech, Maslihah extended the organisation’s heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare frontliners for their relentless duties and responsibilities in the fight against Covid-19.
“We understand that until the end of the pandemic battle, PPE will be a constant necessity and as a responsible corporate citizen, we must and will do all we can to protect our heroes,” she said.
The event, held at NKF-Kidney Association of Sarawak Dialysis Centre here, was attended by its healthcare personnel and officers of BPHB.
The PPE comprised 350 isolation gowns, blue isolation aprons with thumb hooks (350 pieces), nurse caps (1,000 pieces), head scarves for Muslims (100 pieces), face shields (300 pieces), three-ply surgical face masks (100 boxes) and latex gloves (200 boxes).
