KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud today presented state awards and medals to 98 recipients at the Dewan Besar Astana Negeri here.
The ceremony began with the presentation of the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) to 34 persons led by Syariah Judge of the Sarawak Syariah High Court of the Northern Zone Rosidi Masli and SMK St Columba Miri senior assistant (afternoon session) Dr Ong Sze Chong followed by other recipients.
It then proceeded with the presentation of Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) to 21 recipients.
Another 43 recipients were awarded the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK).
Also present were Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar and other dignitaries.
