KUCHING: Padawan Police recently arrested an Indonesian man in his 20s and seized two motorcycles which are believed stolen. Acting on information received, a police team went to Lorong Ma Onn, Batu 6, Jalan Matang here.

Upon arrival, the team saw two men acting suspiciously while riding towards the border. Members of the team then tried to stop the two men who rode deeper into the jungle. However, one of them was caught while the other abandoned his motorcycle and escaped on foot.

The suspect who was caught was brought to a police station where it was found out that he did not have any document with him. He is being detained for 14 days on suspicion of stealing and also for immigration- related offences. The two motorcycles were reported stolen at Samarahan last month and their cassis numbers have been tampered with while the number plates were faked.
