ENGKILILI: Longhouse residents in Engkilili are reminded to not be hoodwinked by the opposition, says Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.
He said this at the continuation of the Information On Wheels (IOW) programme in Sri Aman District last Sunday (Nov 1).
Harden also highlighted that state government policies did not allocate Rural Transformation Projects (RTP), Minor Rural Projects (MRP) and Home Repair Assistance Scheme to representatives from opposition parties, affecting people represented by opposition representatives.
He reminded the people to continue to support the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government because it had been proven that GPS had a clear direction in driving development aggressively.
Harden also emphasised that the opposition was trying to distort what was real in the hope that the people would feel left out and choose them (the opposition) to voice out their dissatisfaction.
“The people must remember that choosing the opposition would harm them for five years.
“Therefore, do not gamble with the future of the community in dire need of development.”
Meanwhile, Harden also approved MRP allocation of RM5,000 to the Nanga Blawan Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), RM3,000 to the Women’s Bureau, and RM3,000 to the longhouse JKKKs who attended the programme, and four units of fire extinguisher.
Also present at the programme were Sri Aman District information officer Jesseca Gilbert Bunsu, Community Development and Tourism officer Audrey Chimbi; Tingga Manggat, representing the Sri Aman District Community Welfare officer, and Skim Skrang Police Station chief Sergeant Bayang.
