KUCHING: A total of 120 personnel from Road Transport Department (RTD of JPJ) Kuching and Samarahan branches took part in Corruption Free Pledge (IBR) at Kuching RTD, 12th Mile Kuching-Serian Road, here, yesterday.
The ceremony was declared open by Deputy Director-General of RTD Malaysia, Dato’ Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman, witnessed by the Deputy Director of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sarawak, Zulhairy Zaidel. RTD has implemented various measures to improve the department integrity, said Ahmad.
“Among the measures are the establishment of Integrity Section, Department Strategic Plan 2016-2020, Department Integrity Plan, Corruption Risk Management, Corporate Integrity Pledge, Integrity Advocacy Programme, RTD Business Compliance, and Online Expansion Service,” he pointed out. Ahmad also said that RTD had been selected as an implementing apprentice agency of Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS).
“It is a new form of international standard to assist the organisation to implement the ABMS, through the method of prevention, detection and corruption management, “RTD is also in effort to have the strategic cooperation with business partners such as driving institute, Lorry and Bus Developers Association, and others to strengthen and support the implementation of ABMS,” he said.
Meanwhile, he also urged the people to inform the RTD for any power abuse from RTD officers. “They will be protected under Whistle Blower Protection Act 2010, which includes the confidentiality of information of the informer, protection against harmful actions, and immunity from civil and criminal actions,” he disclosed.
