KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg today received a courtesy call from representatives from the Association of Research and Development Movement of Singai Sarawak (Redeems) at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya.
Led by its president Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie, they expressed the association’s appreciation for the state government’s approval of allocation for building their Bidayuh Cultural Centre.
Peter said the RM13-million project is now 64 percent complete and is expected to be completed by the end of April next year.
At the same time, he said Abang Johari has also agreed to channel an additional allocation of RM3.6 million to complete the centre.
The state government previously channelled allocations for building Redeems in Kampung Apar, Bau.
Redeems is a community-based organisation (CBO) for 12 villages in Singai located in Bau district, mostly inhabited by the Bidayuh BiSingai.
