KUCHING: A 24-year-old man was too focused on illegal online gambling to be wary of the presence of police in a raid at 10th Mile, Jalan Batu Kitang here on Tuesday.
Padawan police chief, Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the raid, codenamed ‘Ops Dadu’ conducted on an unnumbered premises, nabbed the suspect believed to be a top-up agent of an illegal online gambling activities.
Police also seized cash amounting to RM260, a piece of paper with numbers and IDs written on it, one smartphone, modem and a calculator.
Further investigations found that the suspect has previous criminal records.
The suspect will be investigated under Section 41 (c) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
