KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) information chief Datuk Idris Buang has branded an opposition party member as being “shallow minded” and lacks issue by asking the Sarawak government to rename Wisma Melayu Sarawak and call it Wisma Kenyalang.
Idris said the suggestion by the Democratic Action Party (DAP) branch chairman Brolin Nicholsion was frivolous and smacks of racial undertones.
“We just see how much more insensible they (opposition) could be by making such petty and frivolous political issues which do not bring any benefit to Sarawak.”
He said DAP, Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) were only good at insensitively harping on small ‘fly-like’ issues and trying to turn them into ‘dragon-like’ issues by injecting them with racial undertones.
“They are doing as such in the hope the government of the day would be shaken or destabilised, thus creating an opportunity to grab power.
“Let it be known by all the people that this is the very intention and purpose of the opposition and that is why there are such square headed, pea-brain politicians and their followers who like to play with such issues on social media that have the flavour of racism,” he said.
He also said the authority should investigate, arrest, and prosecute those who abused the freedom of expression and the law on social media.
