RM10k zakat for UiTM students

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch recently received zakat (personal tithe) contribution of public higher learning institution amounting to RM10,000 from Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB).

This contribution was handed over by BIMB regional manager of East Malaysia, Abdul Malek Abdullah to UiTM Sarawak Branch rector Prof Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali in a simple ceremony held at UiTM Samarahan campus on Wednesday.

This zakat contribution aimed to help students from the B40 group who are studying at UiTM Sarawak Branch. It was also hoped that this contribution will provide relief to students affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also present at the event were four representatives from BIMB Sarawak Branch, namely Ahmad Herni Bejamin (Consumer Management Manager), Kameri Edi (Deposit Manager), Mohd Amirul Abdullah (Deposit Manager) and Azeni Sahat (Branch Manager), as well as several senior management officers of UiTM Sarawak Branch.
