MIRI: Police seized a tanker with 15,801 litres of diesel estimated to be worth RM16,000 on Friday night.
According to Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari, the seizure was conducted at a wharf in Jalan Cattleya 3, Piasau around 9.45pm after receiving information from the public.
“Also detained in the raid was a 43 year-local man believed to be tanker’s driver,” he said.
The police also seized several equipment (a diesel hose, a meter reader and a diesel general pump) worth RM110,880.
The case will be handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Miri branch.
The offence is framed under the Supply Control Act 1961.
