KUCHING: The State Health Department has identified a new Covid-19 cluster named the Tabong Cluster.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the index case for this cluster is Case 3,718 where an individual underwent screening at a private hospital in Kuching due to Covid-19 symptoms.
The number of positive cases involving this cluster to date is seven persons including the index case involving close family contacts.
SDMC said a total of 74 individuals have been screened, with seven testing positive, 37 negative and another 30 still awaiting test results.
It said that the tracking of other contacts involving this cluster is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Song District in Kapit Division has changed its status from Orange to Red after recording a total of 85 cases of local infection in the last 14 days.
Kapit district changed from yellow to orange after a total of 24 cases of local infection were recorded in the last 14 days.
Dalat, Bintulu, Kanowit, Beluru, Miri, Sibu and Kuching remained red zones with the total local transmission cases at 1,724 reported in the districts within the last 14 days.
Sarikei, Subis, and Betong also remained orange with 79 locally transmitted cases.
Lundu, Sebauh, Lawas, Telang Usan, Bukit Mabong, Tatau, Bau, Pakan, Serian, Belaga, Meradong, Julau, Simunjan, Asajaya, Lubok Antu, Selangau, Samarahan and Sri Aman are yellow zones with total cumulative locally transmitted cases at 111.
There are 10 districts still remaining green zones.
