KUCHING: Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has announced the implementation of the tightened movement control order (TMCO) in Kampung Sungai Ud and Kampung Sungai Ud Hilir in Dalat district, Mukah with immediate effect.
SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the decision was made by the committee after the number of Covid-19 positive cases in the district showed an increasing trend.
“As positive cases in Dalat District are on the rise, the SDMC has decided to implement the tightened movement control order (TMCO) for Kampung Sungai Ud and Kampung Sungai Ud Hilir in Dalat District, Mukah until Feb 9,” he said in a daily Covid-19 update on Friday (Jan 29).
At the same time, Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said the Mukah Divisional Social Welfare Department (JKM) was ready to distribute food aid to the residents of the villages beginning this Sunday (Jan 31).
“The food aid distribution will be led by JKM officer Haslinda Supu. Currently, the food is kept temporarily at Dalat Community Hall,” she said via WhatsApp.
Initially, the two villages were scheduled to undergo conditional movement control order (CMCO) starting Jan 27.
Dalat district is currently a red zone with a total of 91 positive cases reported in the last 14 days.
