KUCHING: Four people were arrested for selling smuggled cigarettes and beer on Wednesday night after police arrested two boys aged 13 and 14 in an open space at Premier 101, Jalan Airport here at 9pm.

The duo from Jalan Datuk Stephen Yong and Batu Kawa area were arrested by a police team led by Inspector Ahmad Naim.

The two boys have led police to a premises nearby where two suspects aged 15 and 26 from Taman Desa Wira were nabbed.

Among items seized from the suspects were 18,160 packets of cigarettes and 3,504 cans of beer. The seized items were later brought to the Sekama Police station as court evidence.

The four are being detained for questioning and the case has been referred to the Royal Customs Department.
