KUCHING: A 77-year-old local man is the latest Covid-19 fatality case in the state, bringing the death tally to 39.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the deceased, case 3,285, was admitted to Sibu Hospital after testing positive on Jan 22.
“However, his health deteriorated and he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) on Jan 29.
“He did not show any signs of progress during treatment and was pronounced dead at 8.01am on Jan 31,” it said in a press statement.
The case was also suffering from chronic lung disease, high blood pressure and gout.
SDMC also extended its condolences to the deceased’s family.
