MIRI: Works to upgrade the drainage system in Tudan Phase 2 are underway.

Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin said the project was implemented following the flash floods that occurred in December last year.

“The flash floods caused many areas in Tudan Phase 2 to be flooded. With the implementation of this project, it is expected that the irrigation and drainage system in Tudan will be improved in an effort to overcome flood incidences,” he said.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the Senadin assemblyman said this after surveying the drainage system upgrading project at Tudan Phase 2 on Monday (Feb 15).

Other than Tudan Phase 2, Lee said the drainage system in all other Tudan areas would also be upgraded in the near future as a drastic measure to prevent floods.
