BINTULU: Four men were nabbed for possessing powdered drugs believed to be syabu worth RM1,550 at a hut in Tanjung Kidurong last Thursday (Feb 18).

District police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said the four, aged between 25 and 31, were arrested by a NCID team around 12.30pm.

Inspections on the suspects led to the discovery of 15 transparent straw tubes and three plastic packets containing crystalline powder suspected to be syabu weighing approximately 15.5g.

The suspects along with the seized drugs were taken to the local police station for further actions.

He said all four men were tested positive for drugs and one of them had past records related to crime and drugs.

The men are now remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 39A (1) and Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

They can be fined up to RM5,000 or imprisonment of not more than two years and whipping if convicted.
