MUKAH: Seven less fortunate individuals received a contribution from Sarawak Badan Amal Tenaga Isteri-isteri (Sabati) and Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi here on Friday.
Abdul Yakub handed over his contribution as well as on behalf of Sabati to the recipients at their respective residents here.
Three disabled individuals, Muhammad Adzlan Nuffel Haslim from Kampung Sau, Has Hassan (Kampung Sungai Alo) and accident victim Fifi Nurliyana Syafina (Kampung Tutus Ulu) received wheelchairs.
Other recipients, all from Kampung Sau, were Nasip Suhaili (PwD), senior citizen Isoon Soon Bului and single mother Peradah Crudi and Madiah Jurit.
For four-year-old Muhammad Adzlan, who was disabled since birth, the wheelchair would enable him to move around comfortably, with the help of family members.
Abdul Yakub, former Dalat and Mukah District Council walikota, hoped that the contribution would help lessen the burden of the recipient’s families.
Balingian Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women head Aimie Kaliew and Kampung Sau headman (KK) Mazlan Abdullah also attended the events.
